CHIMAERA

Join The Happenstancers for CHIMAERA, an evening of 3 micro-concerts showcasing the most exciting music of the 21st century.

About this event

Evoking the 3-headed mythological beast, CHIMAERA features three distinct musical modules, stitching them together to form one beautiful and unexpected musical body.

This modular performance pulls the listener through vibrant sonic worlds — the rock-inspired sounds of Julia Wolfe, the kaleidoscopic Korean folk-fusion of Nahre Sol, and the ethereal sketching of Kaija Saariaho will be heard alongside the brilliant music of Oliver Knussen, Gyorgy Kurtag, and WA Mozart.

This performance of CHIMAERA is presented with the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Toronto Arts Council.

Julia Wolfe - Reeling (for electric guitar, bass, piano, percussion, clarinet, electronics)
